What do you mean by Gynaecology Clinic with a difference?

We are different in many ways :

  1. We offer patient education and counselling to enable them to understand their disease and the various treatment options.
  2. We do not offer treatment and surgery (we do offer advice to improve reproductive and general health to gynaec patients with relevance to their unique challenges).
  3. We offer yoga and dietician’s service in various gynaecological conditions.
  4. We offer psychological guidance to young to be mothers to optimise the baby’s intelligence and bonding, by incorporating the program of developmental psychology (with qualified and experienced psychologists expert in this field) in our prenatal classes package.
  5. We offer the unique feature of individual one on one counselling wherein you could discuss your case (any gynaecological condition) in details in complete privacy and to your complete satisfaction. That could also mean preoperative counselling or asking for a second opinion or simply to have a better understanding of your problem and treatment options.
  6. Group counselling sessions are offered for various diseases like PCOS, fibroids, repeated pregnancy loss, high risk pregnancy and many others.
  7. Cancer screening and guidance program for prevention of cervical and breast cancer are undertaken weekly.
  8. We have the service of Menopause and Incontinence clinic with guidance for future treatment.
  9. We offer prepregnancy and premarital counselling (complete package covering issues like blood tests, vaccinations, blood group, genetic counselling, sex, contraception and relationship counselling) for couples in complete privacy.

What value would GyneGuide add to my reproductive health?

GyneGuide is based on the concept of holistic health. More often than not, we find ourselves being treated with medicines and surgery alone, whereas the disease process is a result of lifestyle factors like stress, food habits leading to obesity, etc which also need to be corrected for best results. Doctors are now a days increasingly making recommendations to modify lifestyle, but no clinic exists which gives the complete holistic approach under one roof.

At GyneGuide, we practice preventive and educative gynaecology. We counsel and educate patients and offer them a chance to simultaneously make supervised lifestyle modifications which would enhance results.

For example, we offer a team approach to PCOS. The PCOS package includes counselling and education regarding the disease with yoga and dietician supervision (with targets and supervised weight loss) for optimum results.

Similarly, our menopause clinic offers a detailed education with special emphasis on prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, cancer screening, prevention and risk evaluation of heart disease and stroke as well as management of menopausal symptoms. Here again an individualised diet and exercise (yoga) regimen (specially designed for your needs) are invaluable assets to improve the quality of life.

Our infertility and early pregnancy loss clinic are integrated with psychological counselling  to help a woman to cope with these stressful conditions.

Why GyneGuide -  when I already have a gynaecologist whom I trust?

In clinical practice, doctors give you advice in good faith and in congruence with their knowledge and experience. However, medical decisions need not always be in black and white and many a time, the decision is not very clear... Rather it is in the grey zone and doctors may differ in their advice, leaving the patient confused and suspicious.

The myriad of treatment options available today adds to the difficulty.

Say you have a fibroid... You have so many choices... you could just let it be, or you could get it removed (myomectomy) from below or through laparoscopy or open surgery. Or you could remove the uterus itself so that there are no recurrences. Or maybe undergo embolisation of the blood vessel supplying the fibroid or maybe focused ultrasound treatment. How can one decide? ...

At GyneGuide, we would patiently educate you about the various options and discuss with you in details the pros and cons of each. We are duty bound to give you adequate time and put to rest all your doubts and to effectively answer all your queries; while sharing with you all the information relevant to your case.

Does that mean that my gynaecologist is not giving me adequate time and care?

No. We certainly do not mean that. This is a value added service which we are providing in addition to the care that your gynaecologist is already providing to you.

Do I still need to visit my gynaecologist after visiting GyneGuide?

Yes. For treatment, you do. We educate you, we guide you, but you still need to be treated. In certain circumstances when you do not need further treatment, you may not need further visits to your doctor.
